The Grifols Foundation Chair of Bioethics-UVIC and the Chair of Palliative Care at the UVic-UCC/ICO organize the third edition of the course on an introduction to bioethics for healthcare professionals.

 

The aim of the course is to provide participants with tools to identify and analyze ethical dilemmas in their professional practice, and to discuss clinical decision-making from a bioethical perspective. The course will begin with an introduction to the origin and basic concepts of bioethics, before moving on to address issues such as how ethics committees operate, the rights of the patient, the clinical relationship, quality of life in complex decisions, and the allocation of health resources.

Barcelona City Council will change the name of Sant Liguori Street

Víctor Grífols i Lucas gives his name to a street in Barcelona Barcelona City Council will pay tribute to Dr. Víctor Grífols i Lucas by giving his name to Sant Liguori street. This street is where the headquarters of our foundation, Probitas Foundation, the institutional headquarters of Grifols and the Company Museum are located. It was in this building that Grifols Laboratories began its activity in 1940. 

 

Víctor Grífols i Lucas (1919–2015) was a key figure in the evolution of Grifols, from its beginnings as a small family laboratory to becoming the leading multinational in the field of health that it is today. 

 

A pharmacist and chemist by training, his career was marked by innovation, commitment to patients and donors, quality and international vision. His values inspired the creation of the foundation, dedicated to the promotion and development of bioethics.
