February 27 and 28

The Fundació Grífols UVic-UCC Chair of Bioethics organizes the 3rd International Bioethics Congress on 27 and 28 February 2025 in Vic (Catalonia, Spain). This year, the conference will focus on Bioethics and Citizenship. The aim is to provide a forum for reflecting on the importance of extending bioethics beyond the academic realm, fostering citizen participation in debates on issues that have a bearing on their health and day-to-day lives.

The conference will address four key themes: ethics committees, citizenship and deliberation; autonomy and vulnerable populations; the humanisation of healthcare; and citizen participation and the public voices.

Featuring a combination of both keynote lectures and round table discussions, the conference format is designed to foster debate between experts and attendees. The event will also include a public activity held outside the university, aimed at attracting participation from individuals outside the academic and professional fields.

As in previous editions, the bioethics conference will include a communications session, offering a platform for initiatives and research projects from a variety of fields.
