Selecting embryos, deciding which genes to inherit and opening the door to the creation of DNA in the laboratory: today genetics allows us to choose much more than we imagined. We will not only talk about the therapeutic; Now we select, intervene and, in some cases, we can even manufacture new genetic combinations. In this talk we will consider how these advances force us to rethink what it means to choose, what risks we take and what ethical dilemmas arise when we select the future of humanity.

On November 19 at 6:30 p.m., Adrián Villalba, postdoctoral researcher in Reproductive Medicine at the Instituto de Investigaciones Sanitarias de la Fe (Valencia) will give a conference on the dilemmas of genetics, at the headquarters of Friends for UNESCO. This activity is part of the Spaces of Reflection cycle that we carry out together with this entity.

Have you thought about how you would like the care to be received in the event of suffering from an illness that prevents you from expressing yourself? Do you know how you can put this on record? In order to be sure that our wishes and wishes will be respected, we must leave them in writing.  How to do it? How to fill out an Advance Directives Document?

We will put it into practice in several workshops that we have organized within the framework of the Life at the End of Life festival, aimed at breaking the taboo on talking about death and offering tools to inform, train and decide and how to face the last stretch of life.
